August Prayer Points from EMUNAH ISRAEL

Dear ‘Christian Friends of Emunah’,

Life in the Holy Land has been especially difficult recently – riots, protests, terrorist attacks, government upheaval, and deep division are a painful reality. Israelis are desperate for peace and relief. As Israel is in the midst of a challenging season, we at EMUNAH count it a privilege to serve our Nation by meeting the real needs of Israel’s most disadvantaged and at-risk children and families.

EMUNAH is a Jewish charity providing life-changing services to help the most vulnerable in the Holy Land. The aim is to break the cycle of distress, abuse and poverty, so that they can look to a brighter future in which they are able to build their own rewarding and stable lives and families. The Hebrew word ‘EMUNAH’ means faith, loyalty, stability, and faithfulness.

Especially during this challenging time, we are so thankful for the care, support, and prayers of our Christian friends, as we seek to be faithful to our calling to consistently care for the most needy in the Land.

Please would you pray (in faith!) with us this month…

For Safety in the Nation of Israel. Pray for God’s protection and shalom (peace and wholeness) over the Land and the People.
Indeed, He who keeps Israel never slumbers nor sleeps. (Psalm 121:4)

For Stability for the Nation of Israel. Pray for shalom, unity, reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing in the Land. Pray for the leadership of Israel, that God will give them wisdom to govern Israel in justice and righteousness. May Biblical values be upheld in the Land—from the highest political institutions, to the most ordinary Israeli homes. The fractures over the controversial judicial reforms are real, raw, and deep. May God provide His solution to the turmoil, and restore order.
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

For the Stability of Families across Israel. Pray that solutions can be found to the nation’s current divisive issues, as the instability in the nation overflows into family life. Please pray for these families who are facing extreme stress, trauma, and hardship in this season of danger and uncertainty. Pray for the EMUNAH staff, as they seek to meet the daily, practical needs of Israel’s most vulnerable families.
“Comfort, comfort My people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem…” (Isaiah 40:1-2a)

For the safety and well-being of the children, families, and staff involved with EMUNAH, especially from the daily threat of stabbings, shootings and rocket attacks which have become a daily reality in Israel. The trend of terrorist attacks in the first half of 2023 is at an all-time high and heart-breaking.
Though they plan evil against you and intend you harm, the schemes they devise will not prevail. (Psalm 21:11)

For times of refreshment and joy this summer. May the Lord bless the children and families of Israel with quality time during the summer and opportunities to share the joy and bounty of God’s glorious world – whether at camp, in the mountains, the beach, or at home.
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul…” (Psalm 23:1-3a)

For new bridges of healing and reconciliation between the Jewish community and the Christian community, especially as we work together to care for the orphans and the needy in the Holy Land.
“Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14)
