May Prayer Points from EMUNAH ISRAEL

Dear ‘Christian Friends of Emunah’,

As Israel celebrates its 75th anniversary, EMUNAH has been there from the start—caring for the people, whether orphans or refugees from the Holocaust, Arab countries or Ethiopia, EMUNAH has provided the resources and support to hundreds of thousands of Israelis in need, helping them to break the cycle of poverty, abuse and distress.

The Hebrew word ‘EMUNAH’ means faithfulness, loyalty and  stability. We are so thankful for the friendship, support, and prayers of our Christian friends, as we seek to be faithful to our calling to care for the most needy in the Land, especially during these difficult and turbulent times..

Please could you pray (in faith!) with us this month… 

 For safety in the Nation of Israel. Pray for the Lord’s protection and shalom (Peace) over the Land and the people. As Israelis recently observed both Yom ha-Shoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), and Yom ha-Zikaron (The Day of Remembrance for Fallen Israeli Soldiers), there is a keen awareness of the urgency to stop the growing tide of racism and anti-Semitism in Israel, and beyond. Pray for those facing the reality of terrorist attacks and persecution, in Israel and around the world.

And I will be to (Jerusalem) a wall of fire all around her’, declares the LORD, ‘and I will be the glory in her midst.’”. (Zechariah 2:5)
My help comes from Hashem/God, the Maker of heaven and earth….indeed, the Keeper of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:2,4)

For stability for the Nation of Israel. Pray for the harmful divisions within Israeli society to be healed, and a new sense of God-honoring unity to prevail. Pray clarity for government leaders to be able to put aside egos, and to find creative solutions as they seek the Lord for wisdom for the nation.

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near….Let them turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on them…. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.“ As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Psalm 55:6-9 condensed)

 For the stability of families across Israel. Pray that solutions can be found to the nation’s current issues, as the instability in the nation overflows into family life. Please pray for these families who are facing extreme stress and hardship in this season of uncertainty. Pray for the EMUNAH staff, as they seek to meet the practical needs of Israel’s most vulnerable families.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing…. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:1,4)

 For the Future of Israel. The Modern State of Israel is celebrating 75 years since her re-birth! Israel is a modern miracle and a fulfilment of Biblical prophecy! May God Almighty be Israel’s strong and merciful defence in this time of trouble – and in the years ahead. May He be her future and hope, a Shield for the innocent, and the comforter to those who mourn. Pray for all those in the Land who are feeling hopeless and helpless. May the faithful services of EMUNAH, across 73 cities in Israel, be an answer to their prayers and a conduit for true healing and restoration.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’” (Exodus 32:13)

 For hope and healing for all of the children and teens benefiting from EMUNAH’s innovative “clown therapy.” Abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, addictions, mental illness. There is a long list of reasons why someone may need a caring, professional counselor, but not all traumatized children are ready to engage with a traditional therapist. EMUNAH has employed a highly effective team of “therapeutic clowns” to relate to the children they serve in an approachable way, breaking down traditional barriers to communication, and bringing joy and laughter in the process. Please pray for healing in the lives of all of the children, youth and adults that depend on EMUNAH for crucial help and support.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called ‘oaks of righteousness’, ‘the planting of the Lord’, that He may be glorified. (Psalm 61:1-3)
